The 1000 km race of Jerez 1987 , also 1000 km Jerez , took place on March 29th at the Circuito de Jerez and was the second round of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

The 1000 km race in Jerez was the second race of the season in the 1987 World Sports Car Championship. The first race, the 360 km race in Jarama , ended with the overall victory of Jan Lammers and John Watson in the Jaguar XJR-8 . The Jaguar works team also won the race in Jerez . This time Eddie Cheever and Raul Boesel won with three laps ahead of the Kremer - Porsche 962C , in which Kris Nissen and Volker Weidler were at the wheel.

The group-C2-rating secured Fermin Velez and Gordon Spice on a Spice SE86C .
