Spa-Francorchamps 1000 km race in 1987

The 16th 1000 km race in Spa-Francorchamps , also known as Kourou's 1000 km Spa , took place in Spa-Francorchamps on September 13, 1987 and was the ninth round of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

After the success in the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring , the Jaguar works team secured the world championship title two races before the end of the world sports car championship in 1987 . The Jaguar team also remained successful in the 1000 km race in Spa-Francorchamps and this time even celebrated a double victory. Martin Brundle , Johnny Dumfries and Raul Boesel won with one lap ahead of their teammates Jan Lammers and John Watson .
