Monza 1000 km race 1987

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 27th 1000 km race of Monza , also 1000 km di Monza, Autodromo Nazionale di Monza , took place on April 12, 1987 at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza and was the third race of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

The 1000 km race in Monza was already one of the classic endurance races in 1987 . In 1965 , the 1000 km distance was driven for the fourth time; then, still on the Monza racetrack with the steep curve passages won Mike Parkes and Jean Guichet on a plant - Ferrari 275P2 .

In 1987, as in the first two races of the season in Jarama and Jerez , the Jaguar works team won ; this time with Jan Lammers and John Watson at the wheel of a Jaguar XJR-8 .
