  • The king of Greater Armenia , the Herodier Tigranes V , dies.
  • In the Parthian Empire , King Artabanos II succeeds King Vonones I. Vonones I , who had a Roman education and was never able to make friends with the Parthian customs, is expelled. He fled to Armenia, became king there and founded the Armenian dynasty of the Arsacids . At Artabanos' urging, Augustus deposed him and sent Vonones into exile in Syria.
