Roman-Persian Wars
- May: The Persians occupy Jerusalem and carry off the alleged cross of Christ to Ctesiphon . Numerous Christians are killed, and several churches in the city, such as the Church of the Holy Sepulcher , the Hagia Sion basilica and the Church of St. Mary on the site of the later al-Aqsa mosque , are destroyed. The continuation of the cross leaves a clear shock effect on Christians.
- The Persians conquer Tarsus .
- The Persians destroy the Ghassanid Empire , a vassal state of the Eastern Romans in northern Arabia.
Franconian Empire
- October 10 : The Frankish King Chlothar II holds an imperial council and an imperial assembly in Paris.
- October 18 : In the Edictum Chlotharii , King Chlothar II has to make far-reaching concessions to the nobility who helped him to victory over Brunichild . On the aristocratic side, Pippin the Elder and Arnulf von Metz played a key role in drafting the edict .
British Islands
- King Cynegils of Wessex invades British Devon ("Dumnonia") together with his son and co-regent Cwichelm and defeats its troops at Beandun. The location of the battle that killed Britons in 2046 is unknown today.
