The ABU TV Song Festival 2015 was the fourth edition of the annual ABU TV Song Festival . The festival, which is not a competition, took place on October 28, 2015 in the congress center in the Turkish city of Istanbul and coincided with the 52nd General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), which was held on that day. India and Kazakhstan participated for the first time, Australia, Brunei and the People's Republic of China canceled their participation, while Malaysia and Afghanistan returned after a year-long hiatus. Thailand, which had already selected the artist and contribution, withdrew from the festival for unknown reasons.

With almost 14 million inhabitants, Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and its cultural center. It is the only major city in the world that was built on two continents: Europe and Asia. These two districts are separated by the Bosphorus, which connects the Sea of ​​Marmara with the Black Sea. Istanbul was already one of the most important cities in Europe at the time of the Romans and was named among other things Constantinople and Byzantium.

The Congress Center (Turkish: İstanbul Kongre Merkezi ) is located in the European part of the city in the Beşiktas district. The multifunctional hall, built in 2009, can accommodate 3700 guests. Istanbul was also the venue for the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest and hosted the third Türkvizyon Song Contest in December 2015 .

Broadcasting television station

As a member of the ABU, Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu (TRT) hosted the 4th ABU TV Song Festival.

The following countries announced before the competition that they would not participate:

•  Australia : On June 3, 2015, SBS announced that Australia would not be participating in 2015.
•  Brunei : On June 25, 2015, RTB announced that Brunei 2015 would not participate.
•  New Zealand : On June 11, 2015, TVNZ announced that New Zealand would not participate in 2015.

Thailand

Thailand had chosen the singer Lamyong Nonghinhow and her contribution Jeep aow si kha (จีบ เอา สิ คะ) to represent the country in Istanbul. Since the country was not listed as a participant on the official website, nor did it take part in the rehearsals, it had obviously withdrawn its participation.
