The 2002-03 season was the first season of the Elite series under the name SuperBest Ligaen while the total 18th staging of the highest Danish ice hockey league . The champions were the Herning Blue Fox for the eleventh time in the club's history .

mode

In the main round, each of the eight teams played a total of 28 games. All eight teams qualified for the second phase of the season. This was carried out in two groups of four teams each, with the first two in each group qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played. The four best-placed teams in the main round took one or two bonus points with them into the second phase of the season. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
