description

The fortification is at the end of a north-east facing mountain spur. The system is cut off from the adjoining plateau by a three to four meter high and four meter wide wall. A pointed ditch is built on this wall . The two breakthroughs and the leveling in the wall probably date from modern times. In addition to the steep drop to the Talbach and its side valleys, the remaining sides are protected by a weaker rim wall. This wall connects to the main wall on both sides of the slope. In the north, the edge wall is preceded by a slightly lower sloping terrace. In the middle of the main wall, a round stone wall of unknown origin can be seen on the inner surface of the fortification. The usable area of the facility is around 1.46 hectares .
