Ahmet Gündüz Ökçün

Ahmet Gündüz Ökçün (* 1935 in Eskişehir ; † November 26, 1986 in Ankara ) was a Turkish legal scholar, politician and foreign minister.

His parents were Raşid and Hatice Ökçün. Ökçün graduated from primary and secondary school in Eskişehir. He also graduated from high school there in 1954.

Ökçün graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at Ankara Üniversitesi . He became an assistant in the field of private international law at the Faculty of Law at Ankara University. In 1974 Ökçün became a professor. He was visiting professor at Columbia University for a year . He was also the dean of the Faculty of Political Science in Ankara. Ökçün was later elected to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the Eskişehir Province . He was Turkey's Foreign Minister between June 21, 1977 and July 21, 1977 and from January 5, 1978 to November 12, 1979.

Ahmet Gündüz Ökçün was married and had two children.

He was buried in the Cebeci municipal cemetery .
