Ai (singer)
AI (real name: Ai Carina Uemura, 植 村 愛 Carina, Uemura Ai Carina ; born November 2, 1981 in Los Angeles , USA ) is a Japanese singer.
The daughter of a Japanese father and a Japanese-Italian mother commuted between Los Angeles and Japan because of her father's professional activities. She appeared as a dancer in Janet Jackson's music video Go Deep . She released her first three singles and one album on the BMG label . In 2003, the hip-hop label Def Jam Japan signed her as the first female artist. On July 7, 2007, AI performed at the Live Earth Concert in Chiba .
She worked with some artists on individual titles and mostly supported them with her rap singing, for example Anna Tsuchiya ( Crazy World ), Namie Amuro ( Wonder Woman ) and Suite Chic ( Uh Uh ).
Life
On March 6, 2013, Ai announced that she had gotten engaged to Hiro, the band leader of the Japanese rock band Kaikigesshoku . They have been together for ten years and plan to get married that same year. On April 1, 2015, she announced her pregnancy and that she had already married, at which point she was five months pregnant.
