Albogasio Superiore, Villa Affaitati

Albogasio is a fraction of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Valsolda in the Lombardy province of Como . The includes the hamlets of Albogasio Superiore and Albogasio Inferiore.

geography

The village is located on the northern bank of Lake Lugano near the border crossing into Switzerland , 8 km west of the city of Porlezza and 4 km east of Gandria .

history

During the Spanish rule in the 16th and 17th centuries, Albogasio had limited opportunities for local self-government. Most of the public tasks were taken over by the Consiglio generale of Valsolda .

During the Napoleonic era , Albogasio with its 144 inhabitants was combined with the municipality of Albogasio by decree of June 8, 1805. In 1816, after the establishment of the Kingdom of Lombardy-Veneto , Valsolda regained its independence. In 1853 the village had 213 inhabitants, in 1861 204.

In 1927 Albogasio was merged with the municipalities of Castello (Valsolda) , Cressogno , Dasio, Drano and Puria to form the new municipality of Valsolda .
