Alexander Schilling

Alexander Schilling (* 1969 in Mannheim ) is a German theater director.

biography

During his studies (politics, philosophy and public law) in Mannheim and Baltimore , he gained theater experience at the university and in independent groups. From 1998 onwards, the first productions were created at the Theaterhaus G7 in Mannheim. From 2000 to 2003 he was employed as an assistant director and director at the theater of the State Theater in Nuremberg . Alexander Schilling has been working as a freelance director in Nuremberg , Stuttgart , Leipzig , Wuppertal , Ingolstadt , Kassel , Innsbruck , Bremerhaven and Detmold since 2003 . From 2006 to 2009 he was part of the management team of LOFFT .Leipzig, in the 2009/10 season he was a member of the artistic management team responsible for the format Kleines Haus Extra at the Ingolstadt theater . In the 2017/18 season he staged the world premiere of Dance me to the End of Love , a biographical evening about Leonard Cohen and his songs, at the Bremerhaven City Theater .
