At least in 2008 he should have appeared for the Aigle Noir FC de Makamba or a predecessor club of the club. In 2009, he then joined the club in the highest Burundian football league , where he finished eighth with the team in the final standings. He then moved to the capital Bujumbura to join Vital'O FC, who also played in the first class there . With the Burundian football record champions he was instant champion and took part in the 2011 CAF Champions League . There he was eliminated from the current tournament due to the away goals rule in the preliminary round against Cotonsport Garoua from Cameroon . In the following season 2010/11 he finished third with his team in the final classification and also finished the Burundian soccer cup 2011 with Vital'O FC in third place. In the Burundian Supercup 2011, the team was eliminated in the semifinals against Atlético Olympic FC .

In the 2011/12 season, Tambwe and his team again celebrated the championship title and made it into the final of the Burundian Football Cup this year. In this very same place, Vital'O FC lost 1-0 to LLB Académic FC on September 15, 2012 . In the Burundian Supercup 2012 the team came to an abrupt end in the semifinals; in this case also against the LLB Académic FC. Due to the championship title, the team was eligible to participate in the 2013 CAF Champions League . After the team came just over the preliminary round due to the away goals rule , they were eliminated in the following first round with a total score of 0: 2 against Rangers International from Nigeria . In the following season 2012/13, the striker with Vital'O FC only made it to fourth place in the final table, with the team just five points behind champions Flambeau de l'Est FC . In this year's soccer cup, the team did not make it to the final again.

Change to Tanzania

Before the start of the 2013/14 season, Tambwe moved to neighboring Tanzania , where he was signed to Simba FC , which is one of the top clubs in the country alongside Young Africans FC . At the club from Dar es Salaam he was a regular player right away and had a record of 19 goals in all 26 championship games, having scored almost half of all goals his team had this season. In the final standings, the team only made fourth place in the table. For the 2014/15 season, the main service provider switched to league rivals and Tanzanian record champions Young Africans FC. Here he was Tanzanian champion in his first season and thus qualified for participation in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League 2016 . In this, the team defeated Cercle de Joachim from Mauritius with a total score of 3: 0 and was also victorious in the first round against APR FC from Rwanda , against whom he and his team at the time had been defeated in the preliminary round three years earlier. With a total score of 3: 2, Young Africans FC made it into the second round, where they finally lost to al Ahly Cairo from Egypt with an overall score of 2: 3 . As the loser of this round, the team then took part in the play-off round of the CAF Confederation Cup 2016 , where it moved into the subsequent group stage with a total score of 2: 1 over Sagrada Esperança from Angola . In this, the team around Amissi Tambwe finished fourth and last place in Group A and was eliminated from this tournament.

Young Africans FC was able to defend the championship title in the following season 2015/16. This season, Tambwe was able to stand out as the top scorer in the Tanzanian Premier League with 21 goals and received the award as top scorer worth 5,742,940 Burundi francs (around 2,700 euros ). He also took part with his team in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League 2017 , defeated the Comorian club Ngaya Club de Mdé with a total score of 6: 2 and made it into the first round. In this, the Tanzanians were defeated by the away goals rule against Zanaco FC from Zambia . After being eliminated from this competition, Young Africans FC took part in the play-off round of the CAF Confederation Cup 2017 as one of the losers of this round . In this round, the team was defeated by MC Alger with an overall rating of 1: 4 and was eliminated from this tournament. Due to the championship title 2016/17, the team is also qualified for participation in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League 2018 .

National team career

As a player for the Burundian record champions Vital'O FC, the then 22-year-old Tambwe made it into the Burundian national soccer team . Under the Algerian- born Adel Amrouche , who is also in possession of Belgian nationality, he made his debut on January 5, 2011 in a 3-1 defeat in a friendly international match against Uganda . Here he was used from the start and was replaced by Mirag Abdoul Razak from the 81st minute of the game . In his second international match, a 1-1 draw against Tanzania three days later , in which he was used again from the start, he scored the 1-0 opening goal in the 50th minute of the game and was again through in the 84th minute Mirag Abdoul Razak replaced. Another three days later, he completed his third international match in the friendly against Egypt and played the full game in the 3-1 defeat.

Thereupon he was not involved in another international match for about two years before he took part in the CECAFA Cup 2012 in Uganda between late November and early December 2012 . He was now coach Lofty Naseem , an Egyptian, in a group game against Tanzania and then in the quarter-final against Zanzibar . In neither of the two games did Tambwe play the full length of the game. In the quarter-finals, Burundi was defeated by the Zanzibar team on penalties and was eliminated from the current tournament. Lofty Naseem then used the striker, after he was not used in the first leg, on January 6, 2013 in the second leg of the preliminary round of the qualifying for the African Nations Cup 2014 against the Kenyans who were favored in advance . After Kenya had been defeated, Sudan, coached by Mohamed Abdallah , waited for Burundi about six months later in the first qualifying round for the African Nations Cup 2014 . In the two international matches that took place in July 2013, the then 24-year-old center forward was finally used and scored the 1-0 opening goal in the first leg to later make it 1-1. Subsequently, the team only managed to qualify for the finals in South Africa in early 2014 on penalties in the second leg . However, Tambwe was not used on this.

After another international match in a friendly game against Rwanda on March 5, 2014, he came on April 26, 2014 in another friendly game against Tanzania under the new coach Rainer Willfeld , who had been in the country since February 2013 and both players and players Trainer trained, for use. Under the German , Tambwe then came to a number of international appearances in 2014. In June 2014 he was used in the two second-round qualifiers for the 2015 African Cup of Nations against Botswana , when he lost his home country with a total score of 0: 1 and thus did not qualify for the finals in Equatorial Guinea . This was followed by another deployment in a friendly international match against Kenya in July this year; In the friendly against Tanzania in September, he was only unused on the bench.

After there was another coaching change at Burundi in February 2015 and the Algerian Ahcene Aït-Abdelmalek took over, it took until June 2015 before Tambwe was used again in a country match. Aït-Abdelmalek used him on June 13, 2015, in the first group match of the qualification for the 2017 African Cup of Nations over the full playing time, with Tambwe doing the preparatory work for Fiston Abdul Razak's 1-1 equalizer in minute 59 ; the game ended in a 3-1 defeat. On October 13, 2015, he was used in the 2-0 win in the second leg of the first round of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup against the Seychelles , but replaced by Abbas Nshimirimana from the 65th minute . About a month later, he was sent to the field by the Algerian in the 2-2 draw in the second leg of the second round of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup against the Democratic Republic of the Congo , this time as a replacement for debutant Gaël Bigirimana from the 62nd minute of the game . Since the DR Congo had already won the first leg 3-2, they rose to the next higher game round and Burundi was eliminated from the current qualification. Tambwe's subsequent missions took place at the end of November 2015 in the CECAFA Cup 2015 ; here he was used in two of the three group games in his home country. He succeeded in the second group game against Kenya, a 1-1 draw, in the 11th minute of the game, the goal for an early 1-0 lead. At the end of the group stage, Burundi took third place and was last in the ranking of the three group thirds, making it the only third-placed team not to make it into the subsequent quarter-finals.

On March 26, 2016, the striker took part in the third group match of qualifying for the 2017 African Cup of Nations against Namibia , with Burundi losing 3-1. After Burundi turned the result around in the second leg against Namibia three days later and won 3-1, Amissi Tambwe was not used. In the subsequent group match in the qualifying for the 2017 African Cup of Nations , he was already under the new coach Olivier Niyungeko , who had previously acted as assistant to Ahcene Aït-Abdelmalek, who was sacked by the Burundian Football Association . His brief assignment against Senegal was also his last official international match to date (as of September 12, 2017).
