The Unterspreewald office was an office in the state of Brandenburg formed in 1992 , in which seven municipalities in the former districts of Lübben and Luckau (now the district of Dahme-Spreewald , Brandenburg ) had merged to form an administrative association. Six other municipalities were assigned to the office by the Brandenburg Interior Minister. The seat of the official administration was in the community Schönwalde (today to the community Schönwald ). On January 1, 2013, the Unterspreewald office merged with the Golßener Land office to form the new Unterspreewald office , based in Golßen .

Geographical location

The Unterspreewald office is located in the middle of the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg (Germany) and borders in the north on the office Schenkenländchen and the unofficial city of Storkow (Mark) , in the east on the municipality of Märkische Heide , in the south on the unofficial cities of Lübben ( Spreewald) and Luckau , and in the west to the Golßener Land office .

On October 14, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg gave his consent to the formation of the Unterspreewald office. October 20, 1992 was determined as the date for the establishment of the office. The seat of the office was in the municipality of Schönwalde. At the time the office came about, the following communities were assigned to the Lübben and Luckau districts at that time :

  1. Freiwalde
  2. Niewitz
  3. Reichwalde
  4. Rietzneuendorf / Friedrichshof
  5. Schönwalde
  6. Staakow
  7. Waldow / Brand

These communities had already organized themselves into the Vorspreewald Schönwalde administrative community.

In addition, the following municipalities were assigned to the Unterspreewald office in accordance with Section 1, Paragraph 4 of the Official Rules:

  1. Great moated castle
  2. Krausnick
  3. Body sh
  4. Neuendorf am See
  5. New Lübbenau
  6. Schlepzig

These communities had previously formed the Unterspreewald Neu Lübbenau administrative community.

On December 31, 2001, the previously independent communities Leibsch, Neuendorf am See and Neu Lübbenau formed the new community Unterspreewald. Also on December 31, 2001, Krausnick and Groß Wasserburg formed the new municipality of Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg. On the same date, the communities Schönwalde and Waldow / Brand merged to form the new community Schönwald. Also on December 31, 2001, Rietzneuendorf and Staakow merged to form the new municipality of Rietzneuendorf-Staakow. And on February 1, 2002, the communities of Freiwalde, Niewitz and Reichwalde merged to form the new Bersteland community.

The coat of arms was approved on February 28, 1996 by the Ministry of the Interior of Brandenburg.

Blazon : "Under a green shield head, in it three silver pine apples in bars, in gold a black dragonfly with blue wings, accompanied by two black cattails with bent leaves according to the figure."

Office Director

The first official director from 1993 was Dr. Markus Grünewald. Before that, Ms. Ingeborg Freilang was in charge of the office. Markus Grünewald moved to the Ministry of the Interior of Brandenburg in 2000. From 2000 to 2005 Carsten Saß was the official director. Jens-Hermann Kleine followed him on June 1, 2005 as the last official director.
