Antony Costes (born December 19, 1989 in Auch ) is a French duathlete and triathlete . He is the Ironman winner (2017) and has been leading the list of French triathletes on the Ironman distance since 2017 .

Career

Antony Costes started his first triathlon at the age of 11.

He started in races in the short and middle distance and since 2014 also in the triathlon long distance.

Vice-State Champion Triathlon Long Distance 2014

Antony Costes was French runner-up in the long-distance triathlon in July 2014 behind his compatriot Sylvain Sudrie . He has been a professional triathlete since 2016.

Ironman distance since 2017

In July 2017 he started his first Ironman race in Austria (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running): After a strong swim and cycling, he then fell back on the final marathon distance and finished 128th . Rank.

In September he won the Ironman Barcelona with a new course record on his second start . With his winning time of 7:49:19 h, he achieved the fastest time of a French athlete and was ranked twelfth in the list of the best triathletes on the Ironman distance .

At his third Ironman start at Ironman France , he finished second in June 2018 in Nice. At the Ironman World Championships in Ironman Hawaii , he finished 33rd in October.

In the duathlon, the 29-year-old won the Powerman Middle Distance Duathlon Asian Championships in March 2019 .

Antony Costes lives in Toulouse in the south of France .
