Location of the Verviers district in the province of Liège

The district of Verviers ( French arrondissement administratif de Verviers ) is one of four administrative districts in the Belgian province of Liege . It covers an area of ​​2,016.22 km² with 287,772 inhabitants ( as of January 1, 2019 ) in 29 municipalities in the east of the country; this makes it the largest area in Belgium.

Verviers is also the judicial district for the municipalities of the French Community . The municipalities of the German-speaking Community belong to the judicial district of Eupen.
