Arthur Freymond

Arthur Freymond (born May 1, 1879 in Ursins , † August 6, 1970 in Lausanne , resident in Saint-Cierges ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

In 1906 Freymond was licensed as rer. pole. and in 1910 lic. phil. hist. from the University of Lausanne . Before his licentiate, he was a French teacher at a canton school between 1903 and 1904 and later worked at the girls' high school from 1905 to 1916. From 1910 to 1918 he worked at the teachers' college in Lausanne . From 1924 to 1945 he was director and from 1945 to 1968 board member of Assurance mutuelle vaudoise .

From 1911 to 1918 he sat on the municipal council of the city of Lausanne and was then a city ​​councilor between 1918 and 1922 , before he was appointed city ​​president in 1922 and held this office until 1924. Freymond was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud from 1921 to 1937 . He was also president of the Cercle démocratique de Lausanne and the Société académique vaudoise .

He was a member of the academic society Belles-Lettres and 1904-06 of the commission of the "Livre d'or" and co-author of the "Histoire de la Société de Belles Lettres de Lausanne" , 1906.
