Jean Peitrequin

Jean Peitrequin (born October 5, 1902 in Lausanne , † March 15, 1969 there , entitled to live in Romanel-sur-Lausanne ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

Peitrequin graduated from the engineering school in Lausanne and became a civil engineer in 1924 . From 1925 he worked in Nancy and later in Aigle . From 1929 he was an employee and from 1930 to 1935 editor of the Revue de Lausanne .

From 1934 to 1937 Peitrequin was on the municipal council of the city of Lausanne for the FDP. In 1935 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud and had a seat there until 1945. From 1937 he was on the city council of Lausanne, where he headed the building department from 1937 to 1945 and the welfare department from 1946 to 1949. For seven years, from 1950 to 1957, he was mayor . He was elected to the National Council for the legislative period from 1951 to 1955 . He was also president of the FDP Lausanne.

Peitrequin financed the establishment of a local television company and was a co-founder of Loterie Romande . He also wrote various novels and political writings.
