Grégoire Junod

Grégoire Junod (* 1975 ; resident in Lignières ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Junod graduated from high school in 1994 Lausanne and graduated in 2001 the licentiate in history and economics from. He then worked for a union and from 2005 was General Secretary of Unia .

His political career began as secretary of the SP Lausanne (1997–2001). Later he was its president from 2004 to 2008. From 2007 to 2011 he was for the SP in the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud . From 2008 he was also the group president of the Social Democrats in the cantonal parliament. In 2011 he was elected to the city ​​government of the Vaudois capital. He has been Mayor of Lausanne since March 29, 2016 .

He is married to the former SP Councilor of States Géraldine Savary and the father of a daughter (* 2004) and a stepdaughter (* 1994).
