Louis Gagnaux
Louis Gagnaux (born January 22, 1851 in Montcherand , † April 24, 1921 in Lausanne , resident in Mathod ) was a Swiss politician .
biography
Gagnaux graduated from the teacher training college in Lausanne and later became a school inspector . From 1894 to 1897 he was active as a radical councilor before he was active in property management from July to October 1897. He was mayor of Lausanne from 1898 to 1900 when the canton of Vaud celebrated its independence anniversary.
Above all, he campaigned for the development of "his" La Pontaise district and was a dissident radical member of the Vaudois Grand Council from 1905 to 1909 . As a founding member, he set up the Commission du Vieux Lausanne , from which the Musée du Vieux-Lausanne (today's Musée historique de Lausanne ) emerged. As editor of the magazine Le Citoyen , he attacked the leaders of the radicals with whom he had fallen out. Later he was a member of the board of directors of Transports publics de la région lausannoise .
