Jules-Henri Addor (born September 21, 1894 in La Lance , † December 17, 1953 in Lausanne ; resident in Vuiteboeuf ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

Addor obtained the primary school teacher license in 1914 and taught in Morcles until 1918 . He studied mathematics at the University of Neuchâtel and during the holidays at the Sorbonne in Paris . In 1921 he received his licentiate in Neuchâtel. He was a teacher at the Progymnasium in Yverdon-les-Bains from 1922 to 1927 and taught at the teachers' college in Lausanne from 1928 to 1937. He wrote various school books.

From 1934 he was a free-spirited local councilor and from 1938 to 1945 city ​​president of Lausanne. In 1940 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud and had a seat there until 1945. In the legislative period 1943–1947 he was politicized in the National Council , but was not re-elected.

He was a colonel in the Swiss Army . On the accusation that he was the father of an illegitimate child, Addor filed a criminal complaint for defamation and won the case. Another unsubstantiated allegation, which linked him to a real estate affair in the city of Lausanne, forced him to appear again in court. He was not convicted, but was not rehabilitated until 1953 , the year he died .
