Ausserbinn ( Valais German Üsserbi [ˈʏsːərˌbɪ] ) is a place of the Valais municipal municipality Ernen and a civic community with a civic council. By the spring of 2005, Ausserbinn formed an independent municipality .

geography

Ausserbinn is located in the Goms region in the Binn valley and has a mild, almost Mediterranean and dry climate due to its location on a sunny slope. Ausserbinn belongs to the parish of Ernen.

history

The Grand Council of the Canton of Valais decided on September 16, 2004 to merge the municipalities of Ausserbinn, Ernen, Mühlebach and Steinhaus on October 1, 2004. Due to the negative voting result in 2002, the municipality of Ausserbinn decided to exhaust the legal remedies against this forced merger the appeal to the Federal Supreme Court was not granted suspensive effect. The municipality merger was legally effective, although the final judgment of the court was still pending in spring 2005. After the complaint of the municipality of Ausserbinn was rejected, the merger is now legally valid, with which Ausserbinn belongs to the new municipal municipality of Ernen.
