Fieschertal ( Valais German [ˈfiəʃərˌtɑu] ) is a municipal municipality and a civic municipality in the Goms district in the German-speaking part of the Swiss canton of Valais .

Fieschertal lies below the Fiescher Glacier , at the end of the valley and was only accessible on foot from Fiesch until the 1960s .
