The Australian U-17 national soccer team is a selection team of Australian soccer players . It is subject to the Football Federation Australia and represents it internationally at the U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at the U-16 Asian Cup and the U-17 World Cup . Before moving to the Asian Football Association , the team took part in the U-17 Oceania Championships .
The team was runner-up in New Zealand in 1999 . She lost the final against Brazil on penalties . In addition, she reached the World Cup quarter-finals six times.
She was ten times Oceanian champion and once vice Oceanian champion. Her best result at the Asian Championships was reaching the semi-finals in 2010 and 2014 . In 2010 she lost it to the host and later runner-up Asian champions Uzbekistan , and in 2014 she lost to the future Asian champions North Korea on penalties.
