The Auvézère ( Occitan Auvesera ) is an approx. 112 km long river in the southwest of France in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region .

The source stream Ruisseau de Glaude rises in the southwestern foothills of the Massif Central near the municipal boundary of Benayes , La Porcherie and Saint-Germain-les-Belles , which also forms the border between the Haute-Vienne and Corrèze departments . It generally drains in a south-westerly direction, flows through parts of the historic provinces of Limousin and Périgord (here especially the Pays d'Ans ) and flows into the Isle after about 112 km in the Dordogne department , on the municipal boundary of Bassillac and Escoire , as a left tributary .
