Saint-Germain-les-Belles ( Occitan Sent German las Belas ) is a French community in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine , in the Haute-Vienne and in the Arrondissement of Limoges . It is bordered by Vicq-sur-Breuilh in the north-west, Glanges in the north, Saint-Vitte-sur-Briance in the east, La Porcherie in the south, Benayes in the south, Meuzac in the south-west and Magnac-Bourg in the west . It was the chief town (chief-lieu) of the canton of Saint-Germain-les-Belles and was defeated in 2015 to the canton of Eymoutiers . The residents call themselves Saint-Germinois.
During the French Revolution , the town was called Mont-les-Belles .
Saint-Germain-les-Belles has 379 meters above sea level, a station on the railway line Limoges - Brive-la-Gaillarde the TER Limousin . The Autoroute A20 ( Europastraße 9 ) also leads through the municipality marker .
