Saint-Yrieix-sous-Aixe ( Occitan : Sent Iries d'Aissa ) is a French village with 421 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Saint-Yrieix-sous-Aixe belongs to the Arrondissement of Limoges and is part of the canton of Aixe-sur-Vienne . The inhabitants are called Saintmartinois .
geography
Saint-Yrieix-sous-Aixe is about 14 kilometers west-north-west of Limoges . The river Vienne limits the municipality to the east and northeast. Saint-Yrieix-sous-Aixe is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Marie-de-Vaux in the north and west, Verneuil-sur-Vienne in the north and east, Saint-Priest-sous-Aixe in the south and Cognac-la-Forêt in the Southwest.
