It belongs to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , the Haute-Vienne department , the Limoges arrondissement and the Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat canton . It borders in the northwest with Royères , in the north with Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat , in the northeast with Eybouleuf , in the east with Saint-Denis-des-Murs , in the south with Saint-Paul , in the southwest with Eyjeaux and in the west with Aureil. The residents call themselves Geneytousois .
The former Route nationale 679 leads via La Geneytouse. It was downgraded to Départementsstraße 979.
