Aureil ( Occitan Aurèlh ) is a commune with 1,004 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality is part of the arrondissement of Limoges and the canton of Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat (until 2015: canton of Limoges-Panazol ). The inhabitants are called Aurétois .
geography
Aureil is about eight kilometers southeast of Limoges . Aureil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Just-le-Martel in the north, La Geneytouse in the east and south-east, Eyjeaux in the south and Feytiat in the west.
