Saint-Gence ( Occitan : Sent Gençan ) is a municipality with 2134 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the French department of Haute-Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Saint-Gence is part of the canton of Couzeix (until 2015: canton of Nieul ) in the arrondissement of Limoges . The inhabitants are called Saint-Gençois .

Saint-Gence is about 14 kilometers northwest of Limoges on the Glane . Saint-Gence is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Peyrilhac in the north, Nieul in the east, Couzeix in the southeast, Limoges in the south and southeast, Verneuil-sur-Vienne in the southwest and Veyrac in the west.

The predecessor settlement of Saint-Gence was probably one of the main places of the Gallic tribe of Lemoviks .
