Chaptelat ( Occitan : Chaptalac ) is a municipality with 2121 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the French department of Haute-Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Chaptelat is part of the canton of Couzeix (until 2015: canton of Nieul ) in the arrondissement of Limoges . The inhabitants are called Catalacois .

geography

Chaptelat is about nine kilometers north of Limoges . The Aurence River has its source here. Chaptelat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jouvent in the north and north-west, Bonnac-la-Côte in the north and north-east, Limoges in the south and east, Couzeix in the south and south-west and Nieul in the west.

The national route 520 runs along the southern edge of the municipality .
