Aylin Daşdelen

Aylin Daşdelen (born January 1, 1982 in Yenifakili , Yozgat Province ) is a Turkish weightlifter . She was European champion in a duel in 2002 and 2010.

Career

Aylin Daşdelen started lifting weights at an early age. She belongs to the sports club Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt Kulübü İzmit . She is 1.60 meters tall and started as an adult in the weight classes up to 53 kg and 58 kg.

As early as 1996 she was in Burgas Junior European Champion in the weight class up to 50 kg. She was 14 years old then. Since then, her body weight has increased only marginally. In 1997 she was vice world champion of the juniors in Cape Town in the weight class up to 59 kg with a duel of 182.5 kg (77.5-105). In 1997 she started in Seville at the European Senior Women Championships. In the snatch, she won the European title with 80 kg . In pushing she made three failed attempts, so that she remained unplaced in the duel.

At the European Championships in La Coruña in 1999 , she came in 11th place in the weight class up to 53 kg with 150 kg (65-85) and at the 2001 World Championships in Antalya , despite an increase to 185 kg in the same weight class, she only finished 8th . Space.

In 2002 she was in Antalya with 205 kg (92.5-112.5) European champion in duels, snatching and pushing and at the 2002 World Championships in Havířov , she finished second with 190 kg (85-105) in a duel behind the Chinese Tang Juanhua, who won with 197.5 kg. In 2003 she won a medal at the World Championships in Vancouver. She finished in the weight class up to 58 kg with 210 kg (92.5-117.5) in 3rd place behind the Chinese Sun Caiyen , 225 kg and the Indonesian Abdul Hamid Patmadati, who achieved 217.5 kg.

At the 2004 European Championships in Kiev , she was relegated to 2nd place in the weight class up to 58 kg from Poland's Aleksandra Klejnowska . She achieved 220 kg (97.5-125) in a duel, while Klejnowska came to 222.5 kg (95-127.5). In the snatch, she became European champion with 97.5 kg. After these Olympic Games, Aylin Daşdelen, Sibel Şimşek and Şule Şahbaz accused Mehmet Üstündağ, coach of the Turkish women's weightlifting team, of having sexually molested them for a long period of time. Due to this affair, which was never fully cleared up, especially since Olympic champion Nurcan Taylan Üstündağ was defending, Aylin Daşdelen was unable to take part in international championships in 2005 and 2006.

Since 2007 she has been competing in international championships again. In terms of performance, it was initially unable to match the performance of 2003 or 2004. In 2009 she was in Bucharest in the weight class up to 53 kg with 187 kg (82-105) runner-up European champion and in 2010 she was three-time European champion in Minsk in the same weight class with 208 kg (88-120).

Daşdelen was part of the Turkish team for the 2012 Summer Olympics .
