Azia Avto OAG ( Kazakh Азия Авто , Assiya Avto ) is on 9 November 2000 by the government of Kazakhstan about the internal case number № 1684 based factory for assembly of automobiles . The assembled vehicles are sold in the Kazakh region through the Bipek Avto dealer network . The company's headquarters are in Öskemen . The company management reports to Jershan Orasbekowitsch Mandijew.

history

AwtoWAS was won as the first partner on December 21st of the founding year by negotiating a framework agreement. This takes over the delivery of the vehicle and spare parts. On June 14, 2001, the state bought a production line from Valmet Automotive that had previously been used for the assembly of Saab and Porsche vehicles. On July 23, today's workshop was bought from the inventory of Vostokmashsavod . It was not until August that the committee agreed on granting subsidies. In October, the Dürr company also set up the plant's painting line.

The plant then started production on December 9, 2002 with the Lada Niva . The second model, the Lada 2107 , followed on February 4, 2003. The second agreement was agreed on April 9, 2004 by the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade Miroslav Somol , who represented the negotiating partner Škoda Auto . The main aim of this was to strengthen state trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic . As the third car model, the Škoda Octavia Tour has been built since August 18, 2005 . The Škoda Superb followed on July 27, 2006. Since July 2, 2009, the second generation of the model has been assembled as the Škoda Superb B6 .

The third agreement was finally concluded on March 7, 2007 with GM Daewoo . For this purpose, the plant had been expanded with an investment of 7,382,600,000 KZT and the company was legally converted into an open joint stock company. Three models from the Chevrolet brand will soon roll off the production line. The workforce also received training in South Korean plants. In response to the new agreement AvtoVAZ responded on May 4 and delivered to a stronger presence in the local market to secure now 150 CKD - kits from Lada Samara 21099 . The number should increase to 1500 units that same year. Since June 20, the model has been partially manufactured in the factory's own halls. On June 15, however, GM started assembling the Chevrolet Captiva , Chevrolet Epica and Chevrolet Lacetti models . The Škoda Octavia Tour was then juxtaposed on September 30, 2008 with the Škoda Octavia A5 as a modern brother as a parallel model. Like the Lada Samara, this is now partly produced in Öskemen. In September 2009, the outdated Lada Niva was then supplemented by its new generation, known in other markets as the GM-AvtoVAZ Chevrolet Niva . The old model is still being built under the name Lada 4x4 .

The first vehicles to be produced entirely in Öskemen were the Chevrolet Aveo and the Chevrolet Cruze on May 6, 2010 . Just six days later, the company established the Kia Cerato , Kia Mohave and Kia Sorento models on the Kazakh domestic market. These are also made entirely in Öskemen. Since March 16, however, the Cadillac SRX , Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac CTS have also been in the factory . After several press releases, the Škoda Fabia , the Škoda Yeti , the UAZ Hunter , the UAZ Patriot and the Kia Soul will soon be manufactured. In addition, the Lada Granta is to be produced here in a number of 200,000 units annually, which will share the platform with sister models from Renault and Nissan .
