The ABe 4/8 of BDWM Transport (BDWM) are three-piece electric low-floor -Gelenkzüge called diamond ( D ynamic, i NNOVATIVE, a ttraktiver, m odern, a Giler N ahverkehrs t riebzug) by the manufacturer Stadler Rail for the route Wohlensee Dietikon in Switzerland .
history
The Wohlen – Bremgarten – Dietikon route is the S17 of the Zurich S-Bahn and is an important commuter connection between the canton of Aargau and the canton of Zurich . The trains, which are equipped with first class carriage for the first time at the BDWM, were built based on the model of the Star of the Aare Seeland mobil (ASm). But they are even more manoeuvrable and can negotiate curves with a radius of 25 meters. You are now ready to drive on the planned Limmattalbahn . In addition, the diamonds have a different front face than the star of the ASm. In order to meet the more stringent crash standards, they were the first Stadler narrow-gauge vehicles to have correspondingly reinforced front sections.
technology
The multiple units consist of two low-floor power cars at the ends that are attached to the non-powered intermediate car. The electrical equipment is on the roof and directly behind the driver's cab above the motor bogie . The car body is made from extruded aluminum profiles .
The Diamant is characterized by its high performance and acceleration capabilities as well as large low-floor areas in the passenger compartment. Two redundant motor bogies at the ends allow continued travel in the event of a drive train failure. Up to three multiple units can run in multiple control . Air conditioning, air-sprung motor and trailer bogies and a passenger information system serve the comfort of passengers and drivers.
The ABe 4/8 5013 received a black advertising paint for the Aargauische Kantonalbank in 2011 . It is also the only diamond that can be used as a driving simulator by means of a screen. From 2015 to 2018 the ABe 4/8 5011 advertised the Muri Hospital , and since June 21, 2018 it has been the first vehicle to carry the new design of the Aargau Verkehr , which was created from the merger of BDWM and WSB .
