German children's audio book award BEO
The German Children's Audio Book Prize BEO is a German literature prize that has been awarded for child-friendly audio books since 2013. In 2019 no prize will be awarded due to the liquidation of the supporting association Kinderlisten eV .
Awards are given in three age categories (Category I: 4-6 years; Category II: 7-11 years; Category III: from 12 years). There is also a prize awarded by a children's jury as well as changing special prizes. The prizes in the age categories were recently endowed with 5000 euros each, the children's jury and special prizes with 3000 euros each. The winners in the age categories are the performers and / or the director. The winners of the Children's Jury Prize are the performers who are determined annually by a group of pupils or children as part of a school project.
The name of the award refers to the bird Beo and its extraordinary language talent.
