history

In a register of the tithe of the Hersfeld monastery , which was created between 881 and 899, Barnstädt is mentioned for the first time in a document as the place of Bernstat im Friesenfeld, which is subject to a tithing obligation .

Until 1815 the place was in the Saxon office of Querfurt .

St. Wenceslas Church

The Barnstadt Church of St. Wenceslas is particularly well-known and is well known for its medieval bells and the twisted spire that was put on in 1409. The organ comes from Johann Christoph Mocker . In 2011 its restoration by Rösel & Hercher Orgelbau was completed.

Sports

The SV 1946 Barnstädt e. V. is the sports club in Barnstädt with the departments soccer, bowling and wrestling. Both men's football teams were promoted to the next higher division in the 2007/08 season as part of the restructuring of the districts. So the first team rose to the new regional league and the second team to the 1st district class of the new Saalekreis . With the 2012/2013 season, the second team was withdrawn from play due to a lack of players.
