Benjamin John "Ben" Hamer (born November 20, 1987 in Chard , England ) is an English football goalkeeper . Since 2018 he has been under contract with the first division club Huddersfield Town .
First stations
The trained in the youth academy of Reading FC Ben Hamer collected his first match practice on loan at the English fifth division club Crawley Town , for which he played forty-five league games in the 2006/07 season. He spent the 2007/08 season on loan from fourth division club Brentford and played twenty league games for the table fourteenth . At the beginning of the following season, the club loaned him from London again. Hamer established as a regular goalkeeper and won the championship in Football League Two with Brentford . He spent the 2009/10 season as a substitute goalkeeper for Adam Federici at Reading FC and was only used in three cup games. On August 31, 2010 he moved for the third time on loan to Brentford FC and played ten league games in Football League One 2010/11 by the end of October 2010 . In January 2011, Exeter City signed him until the end of the season.
Charlton Athletic
On August 1, 2011, the third division Charlton Athletic announced the commitment of Ben Hamer and equipped him with a three-year contract. His first season in London was very successful. Hamer played forty-one league games and won the 2011/12 Football League One championship with his team . In the Football League Championship 2012/13 , the promoted team won the league as ninth in the table. Leicester City
In May 2014, Hamer moved to the Premier League promoted Leicester City and signed a four-year contract with his new club. He played eight league games by mid-January 2015, but was then ousted in goal by the newly signed Mark Schwarzer .
