Ben Hecker
Ben Hecker (born August 30, 1948 in Cologne as Bernhard Hecker ; † February 21, 2019 ) was a German actor and voice actor .
Life
Ben Hecker was born in Cologne. He grew up in the Bruder-Klaus settlement in the Mülheim district and attended the Hölderlin-Gymnasium in Cologne-Mülheim until he graduated in 1967. He received his acting training at the Folkwang Academy in Essen. He then had theater engagements in Bielefeld, Oberhausen, Kaiserslautern, Freiburg and at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, where he was engaged until 1984. Since then, Ben Hecker has worked as a freelancer.
Hecker also appeared abroad, for example in London, Milan and Paris. He has also been seen at the renowned Theater des Westens in Berlin, in musicals such as Peter Pan or Oliver , also at the Hamburger Kammerspiele , at the Theater im Zimmer in Cologne or at the open-air theater in Jagdhausen. Ben Hecker appeared several times as "Doolittle" in the musical My Fair Lady , for example in Jagdhausen, Lübeck and Linz. From 2003 to 2013, Ben Hecker took part in the Störtebeker Festival on the island of Rügen every year . In spring 2011 he could be seen in the musical Revolver im Klavier in Hamburg, which premiered there.
In addition to his theater work, he often took on roles in film and television, for example in Die Manns - Ein Jahrhundertertroman or Unser Charly . His voice can be heard in numerous dubbing works and in many radio plays. He was involved in the Hamburg Spokesperson Council, which advocates the rights of voice actors.
