Bence Szirányi ( Hungarian Szirányi Bence ; born February 17, 1988 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian ice hockey player who has been under contract with DVTK Jegesmedvék in the Slovak extra league since 2018 .

Career

Bence Szirányi began his career in the youth department of the Újpesti TE in his native Budapest , for which he made his debut in the Hungarian ice hockey league at the age of 16 . In 2008 he moved to the Budapest Stars , with whom he won the MOL League in 2010. In 2011 he went to France for a year, where he was on the ice at the Diables Rouges de Briançon in Ligue Magnus . With the red devils from the Cottian Alps , he was able to win the French league cup this season . He then returned to Hungary, where he initially spent a season at Miskolci Jegesmedvék JSE in the MOL league before moving to Alba Volán Székesfehérvár , with whom he played in the Austrian ice hockey league from 2013 to 2018 . He then moved back to DVTK Jegesmedvék, as his previous club is now calling itself.

International

For Hungary , Szirányi took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championships 2005 in Division II and 2006 in Division I as well as the U20 World Championships 2006 , 2008 (each in Division I) and 2007 (in Division II).

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2010 , 2013 , 2014 and 2015 , when the Magyars were promoted to the top division six years after relegation. Szirányi scored in the final game against direct rivals Poland six seconds before the end of the game, the winning goal to 2-1, which finally secured the promotion. At the 2016 World Cup , he then played in the top division, from which the Magyars were relegated immediately despite a 5-2 win against Belarus . He played again in Division I at the 2017 and 2018 World Championships . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang .
