The Wylergut (also Wylerguet ) is a common quarter in the statistical district of Lorraine north of the SBB railway line . It is located in the district of V Breitenrain-Lorraine and borders the districts Lorraine , Wylerholz , Wyler and, in a small part, on Wankdorffeld . In the west lies the banks of the Aare and in the north the area is spanned by the Felsenau Viaduct of the A1 motorway.
In 2019 there were 1,387 inhabitants, of which 1,247 were Swiss and 140 were foreigners.
Wyler is the name of the moraine terrace south and northwest of Breitenrain. The Wylergut was a large estate on the western slope against the Aare on Dändlikerweg. In 1868 a nursing home for "poor, feeble-minded children" was opened there.
The residential development consists mainly of single and multi-family houses in row form. The Wylergut settlement cooperative was the client; it was built primarily between 1943 and 1947. The quarter belongs to the so-called northern quarter, which is represented by the Leist Bern Nord quarter association.
