The Bichelbach is a 6.1 km long, eastern and orographically right tributary of the Weiß in the districts of the localities of Hainchen , Irmgarteichen , Gernsdorf and Rudersdorf in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Siegen-Wittgenstein .
course
The Bichelbach rises in the southwest of the Rothaargebirge . About 380 m ( straight line ) southeast of the city, in Forest Brook location where his Kilometrierung of 6.1 km in length starts ( 497.5 m above sea level. NHN ), located in the to Netphen belonging district Hainchen something northwest below the summit of the South-West summit ( 605.9 m ) the Haincher Höhe at about 559 m altitude, the Bichelbach spring also in the forest . About 1.8 km southwest of the Bichelbach spring is the Gernsbacher Höhe ( 540.6 m ) as a southwestern continuation of the Haincher Höhe ; near the source the Rothaarsteig runs over the Haincher Höhe .
A few meters below the aforementioned creek point, the Bichelbach , which from then on flows through the Siegerland and initially north-west, runs for about 300 m through the Irmgarteichen district . Then he enters the Gernsdorf district and leaves the wooded area. From then on it flows through the meadow landscape of the nature conservation and fauna-flora-habitat area Gernsdorfer Weidekämpe , in which there are branching, small streams. There it takes its first two tributaries, of which the lower is also called Bichelbach . Shortly afterwards it crosses under the state road 722 (Irmgarteichen – Gernsdorf) and flows parallel to it for a short distance - approximately in a westerly direction.
After the confluence of the Schalkebach on the left side and another tributary coming from the same direction, which rises in the valley west of the 476 m high Henneberg, the Bichelbach reaches the village of Gernsdorf, where it flows a little to the northeast. There it takes on three other small tributaries on the right: Spilzebach, Eibach and Spitzebach. In the village it turns to the southwest and turns back to the northwest when it reaches the district and village of Rudersdorf . In the village follow its longest tributary on the left, the Wahlbach coming from the Tiefenrother Höhe ( 552.3 m ), and on the right the Mühlenbach, which flows down from a 451.5 m high elevation of the ridge between Salchendorf and Rudersdorf and joins just before its mouth small pond feeds.
A little below Rudersdorf , the Bichelbach flows near the junction of the L 893 (leads to Anzhausen ) at an altitude of 316.2 m from the L 722 (Rudersdorf– Wilnsdorf ) at around 314 m into the Sieg- tributary Weiß coming from the south ; about 250 Bach meters white downstream is the Anzhäuser mill .

Lahn-Sieg watershed
The headwaters of the Bichelbach and the sources of some of its tributaries are located near the Lahn - Sieg water divide, which runs over the Haincher and Gernsbacher Höhe. While the water of the Dill, which rises on the other side of their common ridge , reaches the Rhine tributary Lahn, that of the Bichelbach flows through the Weiß into the Rhine tributary Sieg.
