location

The Haincher Höhe rises in the southwest of the Rothaargebirge on the border of the nature parks Sauerland-Rothaargebirge in the north and Lahn-Dill-Bergland in the south and on that of the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in the northwest and the Lahn-Dill district in the southeast. Its summit is 1.3 km east of Hainchen , which belongs to Netphen in Westphalia, and 3.5 km west-northwest of Rittershausen , which belongs to Dietzhölztal , and 3.3 km north of Offdilln , which belongs to Haiger ; the last two districts mentioned are in central Hesse. In the southwest, the close Gernsbacher height ( 540.6  m ) and beyond the Tiefenrother height ( 552.3  m ) to.

Natural allocation

The Haincher Höhe belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Süderbergland (No. 33), in the main unit Rothaargebirge (with Hochsauerland ) (333) and in the subunit Dill-Lahn-Eder source area (333.0) to the natural area Kalteiche (with Haincher Höhe) (333.00 ). The landscape of its north-eastern part falls to the north-west into the sub-unit Siegerland Rothaar-Vorhöhen ( Siegquellbergland ; 331.2 ) belonging to the main unit Siegerland (331) and that of its south-western part in the same direction into the natural area Südliches Siegener Bergland (331.04), which is part of the main unit Siegerland (331) belongs to the subunit Nordsiegerländer Bergland (331.0). To the south, the Haincher Höhe is roofed over by the Struth (321.2), which is hardly lower at up to 572.8  m , but is completely roofed over to the dill and is populated in the side valleys by dill and Dietzhölze .

Mountain height and peaks

The Haincher Höhe is 609  m high in the context of its central summit . About 150 m northeast of its summit is a trigonometric point at 606  m . Beyond this is the northeast knoll ( 607.2  m ), 1.2 km from the summit . The southwest knoll ( 605.9  m ) is 2.4 km from the summit.

The actual northeastern base of the entire ridge-like ridge is formed by the Jagdberg ( 675.9  m ) at the southern end of the Ederkopf-Lahnkopf ridge . From here, the ridge-like structure gradually develops. On the Herrenberg , around 630  m are reached, to the northwest of the Nordhöll , which lies outside the ridge line, is surrounded by Dietzhölze and its right source brook Langenbach and is the highest elevation in the natural area at 641.1  m , 625.5  m . From here the aforementioned central area is passed until the ridge height gradually drops. At the Gernsbacher Höhe only 540.8  m are reached, at the Tiefenrother Höhe again 551  m , until the ridge southeast of Wilgersdorf gradually dissolves and the altitude, at the saddle to the Kalteiche , drops for about 200 meters to below 510  m this to rise again in a clockwise direction to 579.9  m .

Lahn-Sieg watershed and flowing waters

The Lahn - Sieg -Wasserscheide runs over the Haincher Höhe : in its northeast part the Langenbach rises on the southeast slope , whose water reaches the Dill and the Lahn and the Rhine through the Dietzhölze swelling in the extreme northeast , and in its southwest part it also rises on the southeast slope Dill and in the extreme southwest the dill tributary Schwarzer Bach (Schwarzbach) wells up from the Bocksborn . In its north-eastern part, some small tributaries of the Geiersgrundbach arise on the north- western slope , whose water reaches the Rhine through the Werthenbach and the Sieg, and in its south-western part, also on the north-western slope , the Bichelbach , whose water also flows into the Rhine through the Weiß and Sieg rivers.
