Blueprint for a Sunrise is the tenth solo - album of Yoko Ono . At the same time, including the three avant-garde albums as well as Some Time in New York City , Double Fantasy , Milk and Honey and two interview albums with her husband John Lennon , two compilation albums and the live album by the Plastic Ono Band, it is Yoko Ono's twenty-first album. It was released on November 9, 2001 in the US and UK.

History of origin

Since the release of the album Rising in December 1995 and the subsequent tour in 1996, Yoko Ono withdrew again from the music business and concentrated on other artistic activities.

In 2007, 34 years after the release of the album Feeling the Space , Yoko Ono decided to record another album with feminist themes. According to Yoko Ono, in contrast to Feeling the Space in Blueprint for a Sunrise, the lyrics also fit the music because the sound of Feeling the Space is too gentle.

A more precise dating of the recordings was not documented, as with the previous album, the main studio musicians were her son Sean Lennon and the two other musicians Timo Ellis and Sam Koppelman, this time their group name IMA was not listed on the cover of the CD next to Yoko Ono.

According to the CD booklet, the songs are from 1968, 1973, 1995, 2000 and 2001. A demo version of Mulberry appeared on the re-release of the album Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions . Soul Got Out of the Box is originally an unreleased song from the Approximately Infinite Universe recordings . Wouldnit "swing" is a remix by Wouldnit from the album Rising . I Remember Everything is a live recording from 1995. The musical direction as well as the singing are similar to the previous album Rising , but the musical range is broader overall, as different music and singing styles are used. For instance, I'm Not Getting Enough a Reggae , It's Time for Action! is sung in 16 languages by 14 women including Yoko Ono.

Yoko Ono decided to withdraw from the music business again after the album was released, her next new studio album Between My Head and the Sky was released in September 2009. From 2001 onwards, several remixes of her music titles were successfully released as a single, so that the next album Yes, I'm a Witch , which was released in February 2007, became a remix album.
