Wedding Album ( English , Wedding Album ') is the third album that John Lennon with his wife Yoko Ono recorded. It was released on November 7, 1969 in the UK and October 20, 1969 in the US .
History of origin
The third and final part of the Unfinished Music series, which documents the life together of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, was released under the name Wedding Album . It is here again, as with the previous albums Unfinished Music No.1: Two Virgins and Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions for an avant-garde album. The reason for the release of the album was the couple's marriage on March 20, 1969 in Gibraltar .

The original version of the album consists of only two tracks, the first John & Yoko was recorded on April 22, 1969 at Abbey Road Studios and consists exclusively of a continuous string of the first names John and Yoko, with John Lennon and Yoko Ono doing this in different voices . The second page, Amsterdam , was recorded on a tape recorder at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam while bed-in on their honeymoon. The title Amsterdam is divided into the songs John, Let's Hope for Peace , Goodbye Amsterdam, Goodbye , Bed Peace and the Beatles title Goodnight .
The packaging and the cover
The album is in a cardboard box that still contains various mementos from the wedding: a poster, a photographed piece of the wedding cake, a copy of the wedding certificate, drawings by John Lennon, a plastic bag, a series of four passport photos, a postcard and a 20th -page book with press articles.
The cover design and the design of the box was done by John Kosh.
Re-releases
- The remastered CD re-release was on June 3, 1997 by Rykodisc Records and includes a previously unreleased bonus track from the November 1968 sessions at Queen Charlotte Hospital, Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking for Her Hand in the Snow) by Yoko Ono . John Lennon plays acoustic guitar and Yoko Ono sings on this track. Who Has Seen the Wind? is the B-side of the single Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) and Listen, the Snow is Falling is the B-side of the single Happy Xmas (War Is Over) ; both B-sides were composed and sung by Yoko Ono. The remastering was done by George Marino and Rob Stevens at Sterling Sound Studios under the supervision of Yoko Ono in New York.
- On March 22, 2019, on the 50th wedding anniversary of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the remastered album was released as a CD and vinyl long-playing record (pressed on white and clear vinyl) on the Secretly Canadian / Chimera Music labels .
