Heart Play - unfinished dialogue is the first interview album by John Lennon and Yoko Ono after the separation of the Beatles and it is the second posthumously released album after Lennon's death in 1980. At the same time it is including the seven solo studio albums of the three avant-garde albums with his wife Yoko Ono and the live album of the Plastic Ono Band and the compilation albums, John Lennon's 14th album and the seventh album with Yoko Ono. It is also the 14th album by Yoko Ono. It was released on December 5, 1983 in the US and on December 19, 1983 in the UK .

History of origin

As part of promotional work for the later album Double Fantasy , John Lennon and Yoko Ono conducted several interviews with radio stations and magazines. Between September 10 and 28, 1980, the couple conducted a 30-hour interview with David Sheff for Playboy magazine. The interviews were conducted in her apartment in the Dakota Building and in Café La Fortuna .

The cover pictures were also photographed at La Fortuna . Part of the proceeds from the album were donated to the Spirit Foundation .

publication

In Germany the album was only available as an import. A legal publication in CD format has not yet taken place. Parts of the interview were published in the US Playboy edition in January 1981. In October 1981 parts of the interview were also published in paperback.
