history

Entrance to Borek

The village was founded in 1757 by Count Dietrichstein.

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Leopoldsdorf belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a bar and 25 houses in the village. In the same year, 207 people lived in Leopoldsdorf, all of them Catholic.

As a result of the Second World War, Leopoldsdorf fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . The place was subsequently renamed Borek and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Nyski ( Neisse district ).
