Bradley "Brad" Malone (born May 20, 1989 in Miramichi , New Brunswick ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has played for the Bakersfield Condors in the American Hockey League on the position of left winger since July 2017 . His uncle Greg Malone and cousin Ryan Malone were also professional ice hockey players.
Career
Malone began his career in the 2005/06 season with the ice hockey team of the Cushing Academy , before he played the following year at the Sioux Falls Stampede in the United States Hockey League , where he won the Clark Cup . Between 2007 and 2011, the attacker was on the ice for the university team of the University of North Dakota in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , which is part of the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association , and won there in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons the championship .
During his college career, Malone was an annual report rising offensive statistics, and penalty minutes and then received a contract from the April 2011 National Hockey League - Organization Colorado Avalanche , which previously as part of the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 had secured the transfer rights to Canadians. He began the 2011/12 season initially with the Lake Erie Monsters farm team , where he was able to establish himself immediately as a defensive striker in the third row and in December 2011 played nine games for the Avalanche in the top division of North America for the first time . He then returned to the Monsters again and, with the exception of 13 games, also spent the following season there. In the 2013/14 season, his stakes in the NHL increased, with Malone being able to achieve a total of five scorer points in 32 games.
In the summer of 2014, Malone signed a two-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes , where he was an integral part of the NHL squad from the start of the 2014/15 season . His contract was not renewed after the expiration, so he joined the Washington Capitals as a free agent after the 2015/16 season. There he was used exclusively for the Hershey Bears farm team in the AHL, before joining the St. Louis at the end of February 2017 together with Zach Sanford , a first-round right to vote in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and a conditional second-round right to vote in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft Blues was transferred. In return, the Capitals received Kevin Shattenkirk and goalkeeper Pheonix Copley .
At the end of the season, Malone's contract expired after he had been in the service of the Blus exclusively for their Chicago Wolves farm team . On July 3, 2017, he signed - again as a free agent - a two-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers . Mostly, however, he was used by their farm team, the Bakersfield Condors , with whom he signed another two-year contract in April 2020, but limited to the AHL.
