Bradley Shaun "Brad" Smith (born April 9, 1994 in Penrith ) is an Australian - English football player . The left-back was trained at Liverpool FC and joined AFC Bournemouth in August 2016 . The Australian international plays on loan at Cardiff City .
Career

Smith came to England from Australia with his family at the age of 14 . In 2008 he moved to the youth department of Liverpool FC . After making his debut for its U-21s in 2011, he was on December 26, 2013 in the league game against Manchester City for the first time in the first team. On December 29, 2013, he came in the 1: 2 away defeat against Chelsea for his first appearance in the Premier League .
For the 2014/15 season Smith was loaned to the third-rate Football League One at Swindon Town , but the loan was canceled after seven league appearances in October 2014. After his return, he was initially only used for the reserve team of Liverpool in the U21 Premier League . In the 2015/16 season he played four times in the Premier League, three of them in the starting line-up. He also made his first appearance in the Europa League on December 10, 2015 in a 0-0 draw against FC Sion .
For the season 2016/17 Smith moved to league rivals AFC Bournemouth where he signed a four-year contract. In August 2018 he was until December 2019 Seattle Sounders in the Major League Soccer awarded. At the end of January 2020, another loan engagement with Cardiff City in the English second division followed until the end of the 2019/20 season .
National team
Smith played eleven times for the U17 team of the English Football Association and scored his only goal on May 9, 2011 as part of the U17 European Championship in Serbia against the hosts . In 2012 he made two appearances for the U19 national team and in 2014 three games for the U21 team .
In August 2014, Smith was nominated by Ange Postecoglou for two friendly matches for the Australian national team and made his debut on September 4, 2014 in the 2-0 defeat by Belgium .
