In the escape helper's hideout, Walter meets Saul, whom he unsuccessfully tries to win over to take revenge on Jack's gang. Walter is then taken to a lonely mountain cabin in New Hampshire, where he spends the next few months cut off from the outside world while his health deteriorates. Jesse tries to escape and fails, which is why Todd executes Andrea before his eyes and threatens to murder her son Brock as well. Skyler is intimidated by the gang that she shouldn't say a word about Lydia's existence during the interrogations, who still organizes the distribution of methamphetamine, which, thanks to the forced help of Jesse, is of high quality and the blue color demanded by the buyers. When Walter contacts his son to send the family money through his school friend Louis, the latter refuses indignantly because of Hank's death and wishes Walter to die. Walter then calls the DEA, identifies himself and lets the payphone of the bar he is located in. While waiting for the police to arrive over a drink, he takes notice of a TV interview with Elliot and Gretchen Schwartz, who reduce his role at Gray Matter Technologies to naming the company. Walter also learns that his product is still being put into circulation. Excited, he leaves the pub and escapes the police. | ||||||||

Walter travels to New Mexico, where he sneaks into Elliot and Gretchen's house and bluffs the two of them into giving his remaining money to Walter Jr. He then poisons Lydia with the ricin he had hidden in his old house and builds a swivel mechanism on which he mounts a machine gun. After saying goodbye to his family and telling Skyler the place where Hank and Gomez are buried, he drives to Jack's gang, most of which he kills with his machine gun construction. After he shot the wounded Jack with his gun and strangled Jesse Todd with his handcuffs, Walter gives Jesse the opportunity to kill him. When Jesse sees that Walter has been badly wounded by a ricochet, he rejects the offer. Lydia's call on Todd's phone is answered by Walter, who tells her he poisoned her. Jesse escapes by car, but Walter goes to the laboratory, where he succumbs to his injury before the police arrive. |
