Brent is a census-designated place (CDP) in Escambia County in the US state of Florida with 21,804 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Brent is directly adjacent to the city of Pensacola . Interstates 10 and 110 , US Highway 29 and Florida State Roads 292 , 295 , 296 and 742 cross or touch the CDP .

Brent is part of the Pensacola-Ferry Pass-Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 21,804 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 8,074 households. The population density was 807.6 inh / km². 51.7% of the population identified themselves as whites, 39.1% as African American , 0.8% as Indians and 3.8% as Asian Americans . 1.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.2% to several ethnic groups. 4.2% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 24.3% of all households lived in 35.5% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 65.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.15.

30.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 33.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 21.5% were 40 to 59 years old, and 14.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 27 years. 46.9% of the population were male and 53.1% were female.
